Pokémon Black & White Will Not Reuse Old Pokémon

GameFreak’s Junichi Masuda has posted a blog entry today detailing some new features of Pokémon Black & White. The most notable piece of information is that players will not be seeing anything but new Pokémon until the end of the game.
The reasoning behind this is that GameFreak want both old and new players to experience the games in a certain way, with older players potentially recreating the feeling of playing Pokémon for the first time.
Some comments from people who had been given the game to play were also published:
  • “It’s like playing something completely new, similar to when I played Red & Green”
  • “You don’t even know the type of the Pokemon, so you’re surprised at the skills”
  • “There are only Pokemon that you’ve never seen, so it’s fresh and new”
It’s good to hear that we wont be seeing Zubat over and over again whenever we go inside a cave (or Geodude, for that matter). Still, some old favourites won’t be available until the end of the game, like Snorlax or Dragonite. I’ll miss you, fellows.
